Tribuna
The event which takes place in Thursday of festival afternoon is called Tribuna (grandstand). This is an oppurtunity for thinking and talking aloud about photography. Tribuna is a public debate to which guests who deal with photography on a daily basis are invited as well as those who talk about it indirectly. Mentors and special guests of the festival will join the debate as well as the visitors. This debate is intended to be an opportunity for a critical evaluation of photographic action in Slovenia and elsewhere.
TRIBUNE 2012
Thursdays’ Tribune offers an opportunity for indepth thinking and open discussion about photography. This year’s topic is effective use of photography in order to alert of human rights violations on the case of women rights in Afghanistan. We will discuss a European view on the topic as well as the expectations of local authorities and inhabitants. Nevertheless, we will also discuss expectations of the international community. A broad set of experts will be involved in this year’s Tribune. To name just a few: Manca Juvan and Jure Eržen (Slovenian photo reporters); Leslie Tomas and two of his colleagues from the Art Works Projects organization, members of NGO from Kabul.
Absent participants will be able to participate through video conference. The debate will be moderated by Matej Leskovšek, Institute for promoting photography SPP.
