Fotopub, named one of the world’s best institutions working in the field of contemporary photography by The Guardian in 2018, generates links between the freshest artistic activity and its wider cultural context and focuses on emerging artists in a need of a platform for independent research, experimentation and practice, thus creating a multigenerational initiative for interdisciplinary cultural integration.

Each year the association’s core team is joined by a series of interns who are invited to work with our team of experienced arts professionals on various projects of the Fotopub Association. Mainly Fotopub Festival, a week-long festival of contemporary art that takes place each August in the rural town of Novo Mesto, Slovenia.

Our yearly internships provide aspiring young arts professionals with practical and theoretical know-how to kickstart their careers in the art community. Through the immersive experience of working in an internationally-acclaimed institution with a mostly web-based workflow, Fotopub interns can get the necessary experience without the high living expenses of living in one of the world’s art capitals.
