In its seven years Fotopub has become an important stop for many photographers and photography enthusiasts. Slowly but surely Fotopub is gaining recognition beyond Slovene borders. The core of Fotopub is still the workshop, but has also found its audiences among “non-photographers” with expanded festival program.

With Fotopub we have boldly set out to establish a space for creative work and meeting of professional and amateur photographers and photo-editors, who meet in a constructive dialogue which advances and encourages the quality of photographic production. It is also a space for national debate on photography and its development as an important art form. Fotopub festival represents a unique photographic experience for participants as well as audiences since it is the only event of this kind in Slovenia, specifically focused on documentary photography. The international seminar and exhibitions of Slovene and foreign authors create a space of cultural exchange and represent an important venue for foreign photographers to present their work in Slovenia.
