Leonie Purchas
(UK)
Studied History of Art at University College London. Assisted
the British photographer Tom Stoddart. Working with both photography
and film on a long term documentation on the HIV/AIDS pandemic
in sub-Saharan Africa. Postgraduated at London College of Printing
in Photojournalism.
She will be lecturing on British contemporary photography and
will concentrate on the work of three leading and highly influential
photographers working today: Martin Parr, Nick Wopplington and
Richard Billingham. Author will also show her own work, a project
on a family in Holloway, London. At workshop she will explore
ways of seeing, sharing group ideas and approaches to a subject. |

Klavdij Sluban
(FR)
A world famous French photographer of a Slovene origin. Works
mostly in black and white technique and has due to his recognisable
photographic style received numerous awards and inclination
of photography moguls, such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, William
Klein, Marc Riboud. His photographies are kept in many European
museums.
He will talk about his very successful project - work with juvenile
prisoners in ex Soviet Union, and also how to approach a long
term project, how to finance it and how to present it to the
public. |

Bj�rn Steinz (D)
Worked in the area of former Yugoslavia for the �Associated
Press� agency and magazines like Frankfurter Rundschau, Deutsches
Allgemeines Sonntagsblatt, Svenska dageblat. The everyday journalistic
photography did not satisfy his needs, therefore he enrolled
into the Prague FAMU, where he graduated and received his Master's
degree. His fresh approach to documentary photography was met
with great approval. His postgraduate work with blind people
was exhibited in all Europe and was published in the famous
magazine Leica World. |

Jean-Christophe Couet
(FR)
Graduated with an MFA in photography from FAMU in Prague, Czech
Republic. He was awarded a scholarship to Fabrica in the film
department, producing and directing short films on contemporary
society. He became an international correspondant for Colors
Magazine, publishing photographic essays and articles on a wide
range of social issues such as government housing and elderlies
in society. Besides working as a documentary film editor with
Journeyman Pictures and Plantain films in New York, he has photographed
short films and photographic documentaries with Labyrinth films
and Veloville International.
He will be lecturing about Persepectives on documentary. The
workshop will consist of creating a documentary series on the
same topic but from two different points of view. |

Aleksandra Vajd
(SLO)
In this year's workshop, which is marked with photojournalistic,
documentary photography, Aleksandra Vajd will play a different
role. Her seminar will be on author photo book and her group
will work on a short photographic story. This will balance against
the journalistic photography, its theme, approach and the way
of dealing with the story.

Bojan Brecelj in Sa�a Petejan
(SLO)
Bojan Brecelj is a photographer, who cooperates with various
European photo agencies. Sa�a Petejan is a journalist of the
Slovene press agency STA. They set forth their photographically
and journalistically based project on food growth and handling
of water sources, which they started in Zimbabwe. Becoming aware
of the struggle for land and between the agricultural innovators
they saw the Zimbabwe, that has not been perceived by the media.
Therefore they will talk about journalism, Zimbabwe and the
west myths. Another themes will be, how the journalistic photography
can outgrow the frame of press media and be presented in a form
of a seminar, exhibition, on the internet, ... |

Borut Peterlin
(SLO)
Graduated from FAMU (Academy of Fine Arts), worked for a year
in the research and communication center of Benetton's, FABRICA.
In this year postgraduated from London College of Printing in
photojournalism. His photographies were used for commercial
campaigns of Viaggo verso il sole, Avtostrada, Simobil, Delo,
Ve�er. His photostories were published by magazines Mladina,
Stop, Colors, Fotostorica, Il Republica.
His theme will be street photography with emphasis on the New
York school: Garry Winogrand, William Klein, Bruce Gilden, Marmelstein.
He is the art director of the Fotopub workshop.
