FOTOPUB PORTFOLIO REVIEW PRIZE
One artist from the Portfolio Review with the most outstanding work will be awarded the Portfolio Prize, which results in the winner’s exhibition in any form (solo show, curated group show, special project or other) during the 2017 edition of the festival.
The Portfolio Prize will be awarded by the jury of all the invited reviewers, led by Aaron Schuman, artist, curator, writer and senior lecturer at the University of Brighton and Arts University Bournemouth.
Previous winners are Aljaž Celarc (http://aljazcelarc.org/) and Tim Cullmann (http://www.timcullmann.de/).
DOCKING STATION RESIDENCY AWARD
Docking Station is a new photography platform in Amsterdam. They aim to bring engaged visual stories further. Each month they invite a photographer to stay in their Docking Hub – a tiny house in the backyard of a cool hotel – and share their network and expertise.
Normally the Dockers get selected by Docking Ambassadors, but all artists participating in the Fotopub Portfolio Review will have the unique opportunity to win a month residency in the Docking Hub and boost their stories sometime in 2017. The selected photographer will have to cover travel to Amsterdam and expenses whilst in the city.
The Docking Station Residency Award winner will be selected by Docking Station founders Marga Rotteveel and Anaïs López.
METRONOM LIVESTUDIO AWARD
LIVEstudio is a project organized by Metronom, a Modena based cultural association focusing mainly on the new research in contemporary art and photography, in collaboration with Ostello San Filippo Neri.
LIVEstudio is a programme addressed to those young artists who require a location to refine and show their works, without the pressure of an exhibition, but with the freedom of set-up, change and rearrange as they would do in their own studio. Metronom will make its spaces in Modena available for the selected artist to be used as an atelier for one month. During the opening hours of Metronom, the artist will be free to exhibit works, organise meetings, studio visits, and other activities. The selected artist will be invited to develop research or a project.
Metronom LIVEstudio Award winner will be selected by Federica Cavazzuti in consultation with Marcella Manni, founding director of Metronom and friend of Fotopub.
